Ernest Neal Williams

   On Sunday, April 7, 2024, Ernest Neal Williams, a long-time resident of Wilmer, Alabama, passed away at the age of 77. Ernest was born on February 15, 1947, in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from Mary G. Montgomery High School in 1966 as part of the school's first graduating class. He married Emily Williams on April 17, 1970, and they spent the next fifty years together until her passing in 2021.

   Ernest was a devoted husband, a loving daddy, a doting pawpaw. He lived for weekends with his grandchildren, and in making sure his children were taken care of. Nothing meant more to him than his family. He was a man of faith, of few words, and extreme integrity. He loved the outdoors and working with his hands as a master craftsman. He is preceded in death by his wife, Emily Williams; his parents, Ralph and Allene Williams; his brother, Kenneth Williams; and his sister, Sandra Ferguson.

   Ernest is survived by his son, Spencer Williams (Becky), and his daughter, Heather Williams. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jay Williams, Erin Smith (Jonathan), and Elise Williams, as well as many relatives and friends.

   Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM at Valhalla Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 12:00 AM with interment following in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
