RIP old soldier. A good friend of mine and from the Connie Hudson Senior Center (Hillcrest) pool hall in Mobile. Vietnam Vet (Medic) Daniel Louis Gomez. I would always affectionately call him "Coon Ass" for which he was proud being a native of New Orleans, LA. We also called him Santa because he would play Santa Claus at many children's Christmas events. I knew him as a man with a big heart. Thank you for your service to the country and we will miss you.

We offer our condolances for our witty friend Daniel Gomez, we saw you Gomez on Sunday shared Dinner at the Cracker Barrel and we did not ever think it would be our last meeting. Oh how we take our family and friends for granted as we hug and say our little goodbyes between meetings. Gray and I will miss you so very much at the Golden Corral. We will miss your witty smile and your welcoming embrace which you never failed to share. We had not known you long, but we fell in love with your charm and loving warmth toward us. Heavan will be a place for you now to see your love ones which preceded you. I am so glad we saw you and shared a very special time and dinner on Sunday preceding your departure to Heavan's Gate. The group at the Golden Corral are deeply sadden as you had become family to them all. I am happy there will be no more sorrows, no more tears for you Gomez my special friend. A lesson to be learned as we should never take our friends and family for granted as they are all gifts to us from a loving God. I am so glad Gomez was afforded the opportunity to visit Pastor Rhonda at Power Of God Worship Center, Semmes Alabama where you were given an opportunity to hear God's message of love and further given an invitation to join his kingdom which I believe with all my heart you asked Jesus to come into your heart and Jesus took you as he knew you were so weary and tired of earth living and ready to fly away home. Gray and I honor you Gomez and we will definitely miss our little chats, our shared meals and your wonderful laugh producing humor. Rest In Peace , our friend. We miss you already. Our heart felt condolences to Mag and other family members.
