     Larry Wayne Thomas, Sr., USAF/ANG MSGT (RETIRED) passed peacefully at home from this life to heaven on January 21, 2019, surrounded by his family as they sang old time gospel music and prayed.   
     Larry was born on January 27, 1947, in Mobile, Alabama, to Wilbur and Mittie Thomas. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and the Mississippi Air National Guard for 17 years.  He worked as an aircraft mechanic and naval millwright and was retired from Mobile Aerospace Engineering.
     He was an active member of Lakeview/Fountain of Life Church for 42 years, serving in choir and usher ministries. His hobbies included beekeeping and gardening, and he loved Southern Gospel quartet music.    
     He was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife, Marlene; his daughter, Marla (Rodney) Mauroner;   his son, Larry, Jr. (Katee) Thomas; his 5 grandchildren: Aiden, Ethan, and Noah Mauroner; Addison and Charles Thomas; his sister, Cindy (Harry) Lewis; and many other relatives. 
     Honorary pallbearers for the funeral will be C. W. Currie, Charles Holland, Henry Maughon, Merrill Morris, Jimmy Stephenson, Clarence Turner, and Rev. Larry Summers.
     Services will be held at Fountain of Life Church, Saraland, Alabama, and officiated by Rev. Rodney Mauroner and Rev. Clinton Hobbs.
     Visitation on Thursday, January 24th, 5 – 8 pm. Funeral on Friday, January 25th, 11:00 am, preceded by visitation at 10:00.  Burial with military honors at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, Semmes, Alabama.
