     Roy Louis Chapman, age 72, native of Gilbertown, Al, resident of Millry, AL, departed this life on February 25, 2019 at Washington County Hospital.  Roy was a member of Millry Baptist Church, Mayor of Millry for 12 years, founder of the Roy L Chapman Sportsplex, worked at Ciba Geigy for 47 years, was inducted into  the Washington County Hall of Fame, coached little league for 40 years, and was in the National Guard for 13 years.

    Roy is preceded in death by his parents; Arthur (Dorothy) Chapman, and one brother; Dale Chapman.  He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Carolyn Chapman, four children;  Tammy (Chris) Jordan, Davy Chapman, Kim (Jamie) Anderson, and Ronnie (Danielle) Chapman, nine grandchildren; AJ (Shandi) Chapman, Kayla Chapman, Lexi Jordan, Destiny Chapman, Mariah Anderson, Lain Jordan, Crimson Chapman, Ally Chapman, and Olivia Anderson, one great grandchild; Knox Chapman, two brothers; Jimmy (Linda) Chapman, Donnie (Lois) Chapman, sister; Dianne (Foy) Jenkins, sister in law; Penny Chapman and many other family and friends.

   Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 10am at Millry Baptist Church.  Family will receive friends from 5-8pm February 28, 2019 from the church.  Interment will be in Kimbrough Cemetery.
