Patricia Delores Sims, age 85, died peacefully on June 21, 2019 in Loxley, AL after a short illness. Pat was born on July 3, 1933 in Memphis, TN to Robert and Blanche Sullivan. Early on, she moved around the country with her family, finally ending up in Mobile, AL where she graduated from Murphy High School in 1951 and married her husband, Artemus Sims. She worked as a cosmetologist while raising three girls and went on to work at the Alabama State Docks in the Maintenance Department. She retired in 1998 after 23 years of faithfull service to the State of Alabama. Pat enjoyed working in her yard, shopping, and taking long walks to enjoy the sunset. She is preceded in death by her husband, Artemus Sims, both parents, five siblings, Margaret, Mary, Jim, Robert, and Wade. She is survived by three daughters, Teresa Etheridge, Sandi Horne, and Dee Kirkpatrick, a sister, Bobby Nell, four grandchildren, Heather Ballard, Bobby Kirschner, Ryan Horne, and Trenton Horne, two great grandchildren, Brayden and Alice. Chapel sarvices will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019, from Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home, at 11:00 am. The family will recieve friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am. Interment will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens. In Pat's honor, the family request donations be made to: Baldwin County Animal Shelter 15050 County Rd 49 Summerdale, AL 36580.
