“And this Light never fails to shine through darkness – Light that darkness could not overcome!” – John 1:5
Brittney Danielle (Harville) Sherman, 28, was born on May 23, 1997, to Angie Denice Cagle and Michael Alan Harville. Brittney was a shining ray of Jesus’ light on Earth to all who were blessed to know and love her. Brittney passed from this Earth on June 15, 2025, but the light and legacy she leaves behind will burn and live in the hearts of us all forevermore.
Brittney was a beautiful wide-eyed child who approached life with awe and wonder. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone she encountered. She brought joy to the lives of her family and friends, simply with her presence.
Brittney met the love of her life, James Cody Sherman, at the young age of 14. From day one there was never any doubt of the love the two of them had for one another. They made their forever union official on February 25, 2017, and welcomed their firstborn son, Noah, into the world on July 12, 2017. Becoming a wife and mother was Brittney’s dream, and she and Cody built a family full of love – welcoming their son, Riley on July 8, 2019, and their son, Carson on May 18, 2021. Brittney embraced being a boy mom with every ounce of her being – homeschooling the boys, making their baby food, and being with them nearly every second of every day of their lives. Brittney once said, “They are more perfect to me than they will ever know, and I’m so proud to be their Momma! These boys love their Momma, and their Momma loves them even more!”
Cody and Brittney received the most wonderful surprise during the summer of 2024. After years of being boy parents, they were finally expecting a sweet baby girl! Ava Grace Sherman was born on January 18, 2025, and immediately stole Brittney, Cody and the boys’ hearts. Blue-eyed and beautiful, Ava Grace is the spitting image of her Momma, lighting up the hearts of everyone who holds her.
Brittney is survived by her loving husband, Cody Sherman; children, Noah(7), Riley(5), Carson(4), and Ava Grace(5 months); parents, Angie Cagle (Todd) and Michael Harville; brother, Garrett Harville; sister, Cameron Harville; grandparents Larry & June Tart, Alan & Willie Harville, and Linda Chance; aunt, Tammy Buford (Ricky), Melanie Harville, Katie Harville, and Danielle Chance; uncle, Shane Tart (Christine), Brad Tart (Amy), and Johnny Tillman (Stacy); nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family & friends who deeply mourn and miss her.
Brittney had the voice of an angel, ever humble and never wanted to be in the spotlight, was happy to sing lullabies to her sweet babies and lead a simple, yet deeply satisfying life with her love, Cody.
While Brittney’s time on Earth may have been cut short, her family know that her eternal life in Heaven has only just begun. In that, they find peace knowing they will, without a doubt, see her again one day. Cody sent Brittney a message, “I sure hope we continue what we started down here when I get to heaven!” And oh! - What a glorious day that will be!
