Catherine (Kitty) Morris, age 79, of Wilmer, Alabama, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family this past Sunday evening, August 24, 2025, at USA Hospital. She was born June 3, 1946, in Mobile, Alabama, daughter of the late Walter E. and Pearl S. Christopher.
Kitty was a member of Calvary Outreach Ministries Church of God where she faithfully attended as an active member of the body of Christ. She enjoyed good, ole Gospel music and did her best to attend singings whenever possible. Some of her favorite things were to support her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in whatever activity they were involved in. She went to ball games, dance recitals, band performances, you name it. She also relished celebrating birthdays, especially her own as it was a custom to get loads of crawfish and share them with all her family.
Kitty was preceded in death by her husband, William Dale Morris; one son, Stephen Normand; two grandchildren, Lindsey Normand and Christopher Normand, Jr.; two sisters, Juanita Clausen and Pearl (Chick) Perry; two brothers, Walter Eugene (Gene) Christopher, Jr. and an un-named child that passed away shortly after birth.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Lori Normand; three granddaughters, Michaelann Parnell (Mel), Miranda Jones, and Christian Normand; many greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday August 29, 2025, at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home located at 8730 Sims Rd, Eight Mile, AL 36613. The family will gather at 10 am, friends at 11 am, and the service will be held in the chapel at noon. Interment will be at Semmes First Baptist Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your church or charitable organization in honor of Kitty.
Thanks to all who have sent messages and support to our family in our time of sorrow. Thank you, Cindi, for being the daughter my mother never had. You are so loved. The family would like to give special thanks to all the attending staff at USA Hospital. You went above and beyond your duty to make Kitty comfortable and treated our family with great respect. Thank you and God Bless You All.
