Charles Walter Hancock, born August 11, 1974, in Mobile, Alabama, passed away February 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Walt was a Combination Welder by trade. His hobbies included weightlifting and fishing. He also enjoyed Alabama Football, but what he loved most was spending time with his family. Whether in his boat, on the water, or at home manning the grill, he loved being surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Hancock; paternal grandparents, J.W. and Earline Hancock; maternal grandparents, Tandy and Ruth Proctor. He is survived by his loving wife, Leslie; children, Erik (Jasmine) Hancock, Nicole Hancock Lomas, Shawn Fredrick (Tiffany), Victoria Wyman and Jay Wyman; mother, Debra Johnson (Mel); siblings, Brittany Blackburn (Craig), Kimi Barnette (Shawn), Shawanda Ledbetter and Lorrie Spivey (James); grandchildren, Tucker Harvison, Zachary Ezell, Zander Ezell, Avery Hancock, Emma Fredrick, Addison Hancock and Mylee Lomas; sister-in-law, Pam Stricklin (Scott); brother-in-law, Wayne Shoub; his dad’s wife, Sharon Hancock. In addition, he will be missed by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday February 21, 2025, at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. -12:00 P.M. followed by a chapel service at 12:00 P.M. Interment will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
