Clayton R. Miller, Jr. (Clay) age 80, born on May 26, 1942 and passed away peacefully Sunday, January 8, 2023 after a lengthy illness. Clay, a lifelong resident of Mobile and the Eight Mile community graduated from Semmes High School in 1960. He was a proud veteran and served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1962 until 1966. Clay was employed by Teledyne Continental and received a business degree from the University of South Alabama. After retirement from Teledyne, he worked for Thompson Engineering.
Clay loved to raise cattle and farm. He was known for the vegetables he grew and his willingness to share them with the community. Clay loved poetry and music, especially country and gospel, and was a member of MCMA for many years.
Clay is survived by his wife; Regina Norris Miller, his sisters; Judy Miller of Eight Mile, Linda Rigney of Semmes, and Mary Jones of Albuquerque, N.M, brothers; Doug Miller of Lebanon, TN and John Miller of Eight Mile. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews. Clay was blessed to have wonderful caregivers and the "light of his life", Sadie James.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 13, 2023 at 12:00 noon with a memorial service immediately following at 1:00. The family will hold a private interment in the Miller Cemetery on Lott Road.
