Cynthia "Cindy" Marie (Black) Fondren

   Cynthia “Cindy” Black Fondren was born November 29, 1962, in Mobile, Alabama. She was a lifelong resident of Semmes, Alabama and was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Sadly she departed this life on Friday, May 12, 2023 at a local hospital. Cindy endured many trials and tribulations through the years, however she always fought to stay with her family showing a strength and resilience that is unparalleled. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart and she will be dearly missed by her family, friends and anyone who had the honor of getting to know her.

   Mrs. Fondren was preceded in death by her parents Thomas “Tommy” and Doris Black. She is survived by her beloved husband James “Jr” Fondren; one son, Jeremy (Devin) Malone; one daughter, Jenna (Darren) Baxter; two brothers, Danny (Lori) Black and Darryl (Mary) Black; one biological grandson, James Hunter Baxter; three stepdaughters, one stepson, and several step grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends.

   Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 for immediate family and 11:00-12:00 for friends and the public at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel services will follow at 12 noon. Food and fellowship will be at Semmes Community Center following the services.
