Daniel Cameron Anderson Jr, of Saraland, AL, died July 24, 2025, at the age of 89. He was born in Pensacola, FL on August 20th, 1935. Cameron Anderson served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Throughout his career, he held many managerial positions including a restaurant manager, parts manager, and a concrete plant manager from which he retired. His hobbies included spending time with his family and fishing. If he wasn’t with his family or serving at the church, you could find him out on the water, in his boat, doing as he says…." drowning some shrimp”.
Cameron was a faithful member of Living Hope Church in Saraland for over 45 years, where he served as an Usher, Secretary Treasurer, and passionately served as the Missions Director for over 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Esther Anderson, his wife, Sandra Anderson, his daughter, Vicki McConnell, his brother n law, Roy Mimms, his sister, Francis and Don Parks, and his niece Angie Mimms.
He is survived by his son, Daniel (Beth) Anderson, his sister Danice Mimms, his grandkids…Camryn (bare-footed princess), TC (big guy), Emilie (super gal), Olivia (lil princess), and a host of nieces and nephews.
Cameron lived a simple, quiet life and was a man of few earthly possessions, but he always said he was the richest man in the world because he had his family. He would tell everyone he knew “I’m so proud of my kiddos”. One of his greatest accomplishments in life was when he became a Pawpaw. He spent his days traveling to tennis matches, archery tournaments, softball games, band concerts, graduations, and anything else that involved his grandkids, and he never missed a birthday. He was kind and giving and touched 100’s if not 1000’s of lives with his generosity. He greeted you with a smile and left you better for having known him. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held Thursday July 31, 2025, at Living Hope Church 626 Celeste Rd, Saraland, AL 36571 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens 8730 Sims Rd, Eight Mile, AL 36613.
