David Brannan Sr. Obituary

David Alan Brannan Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on March 21, 2025, at 11:30 p.m. in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his beloved family. Although officially pronounced on March 22, 2025, at 12:21 a.m. by hospice, David’s peaceful passing marked the close of a beautiful life lived with love, loyalty, and laughter.

A lifelong resident of Eight Mile, Alabama, David was known for his steadfast character, deep devotion to his family, and enduring love for his community.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Margie Marie Brannan and Jack Oliver Brannan Sr.; his brothers, Jack Oliver Brannan Jr. and George Michael Brannan; his daughter, April Hill; and his son-in-law, Daniel Pierce.

David is survived by his cherished wife of 46 years, Tammy M. Tanner Brannan; and his four children: Bobbie Moe (Eric), Anna Peck (Mike), David Brannan Jr. (Andrea), and Jessica Brannan (Greg Duke). He leaves behind a legacy of love in his 17 grandchildren: Zane, Jayden, Lexi, Cody, Brandon, John, Adi, Brice, Sam, Ethan, Hope, Katelyn, Austin, Alyssa, Hunter, Cayden, and Camden.

He is also survived by four sisters: Barbara Glover, Lois Richardson (Mike), Linda Clark (Phil), and Deborah Black; and four brothers: Robert Brannan (Lynn), Donald Brannan Sr. (Debra), Johnny Brannan (DeeDee), and James “Earl” Brannan (Jennifer). David’s life was further enriched by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

A skilled trim carpenter by trade, David took pride in his work and was known for his craftsmanship and dedication. He was an avid Alabama football fan, a racing enthusiast, and found great joy in his “man cave,” spending time on “The Hill,” and sharing laughs and stories with family and friends. Above all, David’s greatest joy came from being with his wife, children, and grandchildren—his family was truly his everything.

To honor David’s life, the family will hold a memorial gathering at his home on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. All who knew and loved him are welcome to join in celebrating the life of a man whose love, strength, and presence will never be forgotten.
