Deborah Elizabeth McWhirter, 66, of Mobile, AL, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Inez Headrick, and her sister Linda (Albert) Mosley.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Deborah was a woman whose strength and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She found joy in caring for her family, sharing laughter, and offering love without condition. Deborah is survived by her husband, Fred McWhirter; three children, Amanda (Joey) McBride, Brian (Miranda) Black, and Daniel McWhirter; seven grandchildren, MaKayla (Landon) Brewer, Emily Lolley, Caitlyn Lolley, Karis Black, Ryleigh Black, Carlie Black and Allie Bryan; brother, Richard (Laura) Headrick; niece, Melissa Mosley; mother- in-law, Frances Horne, as well as many other family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, with a private hour for immediate family from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. followed by visitation for extended family and friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel followed by interment at Valhalla Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Amedisys Home Health & Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
