It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Denise Ann Kopetsky, who left us on July 27, 2025. Born June 19, 1959, Denise was a vibrant spirit whose life was a tapestry of adventure, love, and unwavering support for those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Georgia Winsett and Dale Kopetsky. She is survived by her sisters, Tina Morgan, Renee Kopetsky Bettencourt; three children, Philip Shane Hunt, Dayna Ann Catrett, Darla Arlene Catrett; four grandchildren, Philip Shane Hunt II, Da'mya Anise Catrett, Klayton Tarwine Edwards, Dennis Anthony Koenenn.
Denise's journey began when her family relocated to Reno, Nevada, where she spent most of her childhood. From a young age, she exhibited a zest for life that would define her character. Denise pursued her education with determination, earning two associate's degrees in business and accounting. Throughout her career, she embraced various roles, each one reflecting her versatility and commitment to excellence.
Though small in stature, Denise possessed a sass and spark that could light up any room. She was a source of comfort and strength for those in need, offering a love that was steadfast and genuine. Denise often reminded us that love does not have to be polite to be real; it can be fierce, honest, and beautifully raw. Her big voice and quick wit made her unforgettable, and her laughter was a melody that will echo in our hearts forever.
Denise's adventurous spirit led her to travel far and wide, where she met countless people and forged everlasting friendships. Each connection she made was a testament to her ability to touch lives and create bonds that transcended distance and time. She will be remembered for her remarkable strength, her unwavering honesty, and her surpassing tenderness.
As we gather to celebrate Denise's life, we invite all who knew her to share their cherished memories and stories. A memorial will be held in her honor on Saturday August 9, 2025, at the home of Dayna Catrett at 7363 Pearson Ln Wilmer, AL 36587 starting at noon.
Denise Ann Kopetsky may have departed from this world, but her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved her. She will always be our firecracker and will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Rest in peace, dear Denise; your spirit will live on in the love you shared and the lives you touched.
