Doris Mabrey Maples

   Doris Mabrey Maples went home to be with Jesus March 19, 2023. Doris had a heart bigger than the world she lived in. She was a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister and aunt. You didn’t leave her house without a full belly and stories of the past. She dedicated her life to God and to taking care of family. Doris was preceded in death by her parents Thelma and Hosey Mabrey, her husband Pete Maples, her daughter Janice Maples, five sisters Connie Nichols, Ruth Norton, Betty Guy, Delano Bennett, Irma Fresolone and a brother, Hosey Mabrey JR.

   Doris leaves behind a son Allen Maples, two brothers Johnny and Albert Mabrey, and great-nephew Justin Bumgarner who was more like her grandson than a nephew. She also left behind many more nieces and nephews, all of whose lives she touched and will forever be grateful to have had her in their life. The world is not the same without her in it. Even though her soul is no longer on this earth, but in heaven, her memory will shine bright in all of us. She is now walking the streets of gold with the family she has missed so much. She is whole again and in the arms of the Lord.

A graveside service will be held at Indian Springs Cemetery on Tuesday March 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
