Doris Owen Perry, 87, passed away Sunday morning, December 8th, 2024. She was born on April 20,1937 and a longtime resident of Semmes, Alabama; Doris was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after thirty plus years of service and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Satsuma Chapter No. 515, O.E.S.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years; Billy Carl Perry, parents; Finis Leopold and Pearl Aycock Owen, and great-grandson L.J. Milam. She is survived by her sons; Stephen Michael Perry of Greenville, Alabama, Stuart David Perry (Jill) of Atlanta, daughter; Susan Tripamer King (Jeremy) of Anderson, South Carolina, eight grandchildren; Megan Desmars (Max), David Tripamer (Shannon), Scott Tripamer, Andrew Perry, Ireland King, William King, Elizabeth Perry, and Nicole Prejean, four great-grandchildren; Emery Tripamer, Gabriel Tripamer, Theo Desmars, and Kiley Milam.
Funeral services will be held at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home, Eight Mile, Alabama from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 13, with the Reverend Glenna Strickler officiating. A graveside service will follow at Valhalla. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Humane Society.
