Elizabeth “Liz” Denise Rodgers Schrom, 63, of Mobile, Alabama has passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by most of her loved ones on November 15, 2024.
Elizabeth was born on October 24, 1961, to Edna O’Connor and William O’Connor. In 1976, she married Brian Lawrence Rodgers, and they went on to have four children: Crystal, Rachel, Brian, Jr., and Cierra.
In 1992, Brian Sr. tragically and unexpectedly passed away. Elizabeth later found an unmatched companionship with Christopher “Chris” William Schrom and married him in 2000. With Chris, she was able to put together the pieces of her seemingly broken life as he selflessly stepped in as a father to her four children and helped her navigate the remainder of her life and loved her unconditionally until her last breath.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by Brian Rodgers, Sr. (husband), William O’Connor (father), Edna O’Connor Smith (mother), and David O’Connor (brother). She is survived by her husband; Chris, her children; Crystal (Daniel Peal), Rachel (Fabian Nichols), Brian, Jr., Cierra (Daniel Kalifeh), her sister; Norma Jean, and her grandchildren; Brianna (Minnie), Victoria, Brittany, Cameron, Savannah, Briley, Alyssa, Amberlyn, Landon, Hunter, Mckenzie, William, Scarlett, Caroline, and Jacob, as well as her great- grandchildren; Raela, Rue, Rowan, and Romee.
Anyone who knew Elizabeth, knew that she was quite a character. She was an incredibly loving, kind, loyal, selfless, comical, yet feisty individual who brought immeasurable joy to so many. She had many interests throughout her life, but her main interest was Alabama football – Roll Tide! She also enjoyed spending time near the water where she found the most comfort in the sound of water crashing against the shore, reading, crafting, travelling, and spending time with “my babies” as she referred to her children and grandchildren.
She loved her family deeply but loved the Lord even more. Prior to death, she found comfort in the fact that she would soon be entering the Kingdom of Heaven where she fully intended to praise Him on a level we can only imagine.
Services will be held at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home on November 20, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. A Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel followed by interment in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
