George Bougioukas passed away on Friday, April 29th, 2022 quietly at his home in Mobile. He was born March 27th, 1941 in Monessen Pennsylvania, the son of Christos and Effie Bougioukas. George joined the US Navy as a Yeoman in 1960 and learned photography while serving overseas at a US Naval Airstation, in Japan. George was honorable discharged in 1968 and settled back home in Monessen becoming a newspaper photographer and eventually running his own photography and sporting goods businesses. He later relocated to Florida and then Mobile Alabama in 1986, changing careers. He worked in sales and enjoyed working on the docks with merchant ships at the Port of Mobile. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating and fishing in the beautiful coastal areas here in Mobile. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Katie Hall Bougioukas, and previously Olga Vines Bougioukas, his sister Mary Pitsilos, and grandson Sean Michaels.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Michaels, daughter Maria Weber, and stepson David (Amanda) Pratt as well as his beloved grandchildren Jeremy (Kassandra) Weber, David (Stephanie) Michaels, and Marc Binkney.
A visitation will be held Wednesday May 4th at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Mobile at 10:00am with the funeral service beginning at 11:00. Burial will immediately follow at Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Eight Mile.
