Harold Eiland Obituary

Harold G. Eiland, Th.D., passed away peacefully at his home in Beaumont, Texas, on July 5, 2026, at the age of 84.

Harold was born in Underwood, Alabama, to Trion Eiland and Etta Jacobs Eiland. From an early age, he dedicated his life to serving both his country and his Lord. He proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Following his military service, Harold answered God’s call to ministry. He faithfully served as a pastor for the entirety of his adult life, shepherding congregations with unwavering faith, compassion, and dedication. His final 25 years of full-time ministry were spent at Christian Fellowship Church in Larose, Louisiana, where he served until his retirement in 2009. Even after retiring, his love for God, his family, and sharing the Gospel remained central to his life.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Trion Eiland and Etta Jacobs Eiland; his beloved wives, Evelyn Lewis Eiland and Janette Cheramie Eiland; his sisters, Ann Alexander, Bobby Hatcher, and Faye Sewell; and his brother, Richard Eiland.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Harold G. Eiland Jr.; Cheryl Kiker and her husband, Bill; Cyndee Fleetwood and her husband, Nathan; and Donna Eiland. Stepdaughters Joy Cheramie and Gena Dupre. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Jo Hollis and Judy Henderson.

He was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren from his 36-year marriage to Evelyn Eiland. Jennifer Miller, Britani Dugan, Lacey Sandlin, Dylan Cradeur, Katie Kiker, Lindsey Fleetwood, Landrey Fleetwood, Miranda Slifer, Lexy Brock, and Levi Fleetwood. He was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren: Kameron, Mason, Kaiden, Jett, Alyson, Hayden, Reese, Gus, Everlee and Rosalie. He was additionally blessed with a second family during his 20-year marriage to Janette, which included 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

As the patriarch of his family, Harold leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, integrity, and steadfast commitment to God. His life was a testament to the power of faithful service, and his influence will continue to be felt through the generations of family members, friends, and countless lives he touched through his ministry.

His family finds comfort in knowing that he has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” and has entered into the presence of his Savior, whom he faithfully served throughout his life.
