Helen Bodie Reese

       Helen Bodie Reese was born in Columbia, South Carolina, as a twin, 66 years ago, with a birth weight of 2lbs. The doctors said, “She would not live.” Her twin brother was blind and she was deaf. They were both miracles. She overcame many obstacles in her life. She learned to talk and was an honor roll student. She graduated high school and also graduated from Cameron Commercial College.
She worked for Ball Commercial Movers in Texas. She gave up her career to be a devoted a mother to her two daughters. She was also a devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her heart was so big she also gave her love to two foster sons for ten years. 
     Religion was in the home as she was a God fearing believer. She was a devoted member to the Church of Christ, even when she couldn’t attend.  Heavens doors opened and an angel took our dear mother home to be with the Lord.
She cherished her mother, father and all of her loved ones who preceded her in death. We were blessed to have such a wonderful wife and mother of great character in our lives. She instilled solid values and morals in her family. She will always be loved and missed. She will remain in our hearts forever!
     Mrs. Reese is preceded in death by her parents; Alvin (Helen) Bodie, her twin brother Buster Bodie, and sister Mary Fisher. She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years Billy Reese, two daughters; Anita (Mike) Wiggins  and Jenny Ashworth, two sons; Robert Miller and Billy Miller, one brother Jessie Bodie, one sister; Winnie Garkish, seven grandchildren; Vince Carr and his loving wife Amber Carr, Summer Ashworth, Zachary Sanders, Chelsea (Toney) Chenoweth, Jeremy Sanders, Dustin Sanders, Brooke and Brandy Ashworth, two great grandchildren; Felicity Sanders and Charleigh Chenoweth, and many other family and friends. Visitation for Mrs. Helen Reese will be Monday December 22, 2014 from 6 pm to 9 pm at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel services will be on Tuesday December 23, 2014 at 10 am at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be; Vince Carr, Zachary Sanders, Jeremy Sanders, Dusty Sanders, Chris Wiggins,Joe Ashworth, and Jeff Ashworth.
