Pastor Henry L. McDuffie passed away on March 16, 2021. He was born to Shirley and Velma McDuffie on April 25, 1932 in Crichton, Alabama. Pastor Mac was an ordained bishop in the Church of God. He pastored several churches in Alabama; one in Nassau, Bahamas; and two in TN. He began his pastorate at Indian Springs Church of God on Lott Rd in Eight Mile, Al. As the church grew, Pastor Mac relocated the church to 7200 Moffett Rd, Mobile, AL and renamed it Pathway Temple, now known as Pathway. He pastored Pathway for 27 years. With his charismatic and visionary leadership, Pastor Mac helped each church he pastored to grow spiritually and numerically.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Audrey Turner McDuffie; his children Shelia (Johnny) Dutton and their 2 children, Gwen (Kenny) Pierce and their 2 children, Phyllis (Russell) Creel and their 3 children, Chris (Brenda) McDuffie and their 2 children, Becky (Henry) Jones and their 4 children, and Gigi (Donald) Davis and their 2 children. He is also survived by 28 great grandchildren.
He is survived by his sisters, Janice (David) Howell and Faye McDuffie Howell, and his brother, Ted (Diane) McDuffie and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Sybil; his first wife, Beth; and his brother and partner in ministry, Joe McDuffie.
Visitation will be Friday, March 19, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pathway Church, 7200 Moffett Road, Mobile, AL 36618. The funeral will be on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. from Pathway Church. Interment will follow in Joyner Cemetery on Tanner Williams Rd.
