Jack Maurice Young Jr., 64, of Prichard, AL passed away peacefully at his home on March 1, 2025. He was born in Camden, AL on March 6, 1960, to the late Adelle Black and Jack Young Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirlee Young; his sons, Jason Young and Justin Young (Amanda); his daughter, Jamie Hebert (Cory); his grandchildren, Marisa Lee, Malena Young, Addison, Emma and Connor Hebert, Lyndin and Kamden Young; his great grandchildren, Aspen and Cora Lee. He leaves behind many other family members and friends as well.
Jack was an avid outdoorsman. He loved being in the woods. His passion was hunting and fishing. He also loved shooting his pistol. He enjoyed playing cards (whether it was poker with his kids or friends, rummy with his mom, or even Go Fish and Uno with the grandkids). He was an amazing father and a loving husband. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He made time for everyone. He kept us laughing with his sense of humor. He had a joke for everything. He would drive his wife crazy one minute (as husbands tend to do), then crack a joke and have her laughing with him the next. He was always the bright light in every room. He loved to wade the creek with the boys. He loved spending time with the grandkids outside, teaching them to hunt and fish and how to shoot a BB gun. He would do anything for you - he was such a selfless person. Family or not, to know him was to love him. He traveled all over the world for work and never met a stranger. He was just an all-around amazing person and will be missed by many.
