James Harvey Howard

      James H. Howard a lifelong resident of Mobile, Al. went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 6:35 PM.

     The eldest son of the late Agnes & Eli Howard, he was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953-1956. He was a firefighter for the Mobile Fire Department, and served thirty years before retiring in 1990.

    He is survived by the love of his life and wife of sixty three years; Dorcas Rigney-Howard, one daughter; Renee Howard - Gramiak (Rusty) of Atlantic City, New Jersey, one son; Keelan Howard (Sheryl) of Fairhope, AL. three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, also survived by sister; Loucrecia Busby (Ray), Zora Johnson (Steve) and one brother; Phil Howard and countless extended family and friends. 

Though small in stature, He is remembered by those who loved him as "A GIANT AMONG MEN"

    Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM. until 12:00 PM. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM. following visitation. Interment will follow in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.  (pending military honorary confirmation)
