Janice Joan Thomas

   Janice Joan Thomas went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 17, 2023. She was born on January 16, 1932 and was blessed with five children: David Thomas (Linda), Debby Miller (Gordon deceased), Diana Radford (Robert), Ruth Goldstein (David), and Don Thomas (Julia).  She was a devoted pastor's wife, school administrator, and loved taking care of children in the church nursery.  She also played the piano and organ.  She was a selfless and compassionate person who loved God with all of her heart.  She is preceded in death by her husband Wm. David Thomas, Sr., and her siblings, Galen Benson, Virginia Smith, and John Benson.

  She is survived by her five children, her sister, Ruth Backer, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

   Her family and friends will celebrate her life on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home in Eight Mile, Alabama.  Her service will begin at 2:00 with a family viewing at 12:00, and friends are welcome at 1:00.
