Jimmy Wayne Wright, age 79, of Mobile, Alabama, left this earth for his Heavenly home on February 5, 2023, after a brief illness. Born November 5, 1943, in Excel, Alabama, Jimmy grew up an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and of course, his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide. Jimmy was a family man who loved teaching his daughters to hunt and fish right alongside him. When the Wright girls were young, they recall wonderful family vacations at Port Saint Joe, Florida, where their dad would spend long lazy days with them at the beach, laughing and fishing, and always having something delicious cooking on the stove.
A strong but gentle man whom his daughters adored, Jimmy had such a tender heart that he would cook a plate of scrambled eggs every morning for his beloved dog, Max. When Max died last year, Jimmy’s daughter brought home a couple of kittens she thought might keep him company. He objected and claimed he didn’t want any cats, but of course, in no time at all, the cats had found a home in his lap and would spend hours with him watching his favorite television shows, Fox News and “Gunsmoke.” Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Louella (Fran) Pigott Wright; his sister, Carol June Wright; and his parents, Allen Jasper and Lucille Manning Wright.
He is survived by his three children; Kimberly Conway, Jamie Wright, and Robyn Wright, and three grandchildren; Caitlyn Pierce, Brennan and Alexis Conway, Aidan Conway.
A private memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 2:00 pm. at Valhalla Funeral Home, with visitation at 1:00 pm
