John Lee Young, affectionately known as J.B. or Lil Man, was born on August 2, 1989, in Mobile, Alabama. He left this world far too soon on January 1, 2025, in Wilmer. John’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love and laughter that touched the hearts of everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife Kristin Young; brothers Robert and Mark Young; grandmother, Bettye Bivins; mother-in-law Karen Allen (Darrell); father-in-law James B. Woods Jr.; sisters- and brothers-in-law Dustin, Tabetha, Sierra, and Clayton; along with a large extended family including aunts, Lynda Ervin, Valerie (William) Page, Sonya (Donald) Elvins English; Ashley (Jack) Williams, Labaron Brown, Charlie Brown, Henderson Brown, Joseph Brown; Lemonade Hardey; Henry Perry; Douglas Perry; Edna Young; Diane Perry; Mary Brown—and countless cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who cherished him dearly.
John had an extraordinary ability to make those around him feel special. His infectious smile could light up any room he entered. Known for his playful spirit and mischievous pranks that brought joy to many gatherings—he truly loved making people laugh. Whether it was showcasing his musical talents at The Momentum Church playing piano or drums or attending services at Vision Church of God alongside Kristin's family—his passion for music resonated deeply within him.
A devoted husband to Kristin whom he adored beyond measure—John embraced every moment spent with her as if it were a precious gift. Together they shared their lives not only with each other but also with their fur babies Shaggy and Zena whom he lovingly referred to as their children.
In addition to being an avid cook who claimed mastery over the grill—a title few dared challenge—John found solace in nature through hunting trips under starlit skies or fishing excursions where stories flowed just as freely as the water did from nearby streams. He enjoyed shooting pool while surrounded by friends sharing laughter late into the night—all moments etched forever in memory.
Preceded in death by his father John Lee Bivins Jr., mother Minnie Gean Brown—and grandparents—the void left behind is immeasurable yet filled abundantly by memories created throughout his vibrant life journey.
Though John's time here may have been brief—it was undeniably impactful—a testament reflected through all those whose lives he enriched simply by being himself: loving fiercely without reservation & embracing friendships wholeheartedly wherever they blossomed—even among strangers met along life's winding path.
As we gather together during this difficult time—to celebrate John’s remarkable spirit—we remember not just what has been lost—but everything that will continue living on within us because of him: kindness shown daily & laughter shared endlessly amongst family & friends alike…for these are legacies worth cherishing forevermore!
