Joseph Paul Stewart Sr., age 83, passed away peacefully at his home on June 1st, 2020 surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 61 years Margarett C. Stewart and his three sons, Paul Stewart Jr. (Debbie), Eddie Stewart, and Gary Stewart (Pam) 8 grandchildren Jacob Stewart (Deanna) Joey Burkett (Misty) Tabitha Hough, Lara Bishop (Jason) and Micah Brannon (Jacob) Jed Stewart, Joshua Stewart and Jeremy Stewart and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Purteman C. Stewart Sr. and Katherine O. Stewart, his brothers Mellard Stewart, Purteman (Hap) Stewart Jr., Samuel B. (Sambuck) Stewart, John Stewart, Charlie Stewart, and Horace Stewart and his sisters Mary Presley and Linda Armstrong. He is survived by two sisters Nita Ham and Jenny Sullivan.
Joe was a member of the 711 Signal Corps of the Army National Guard and worked as a millwright mechanic for Scott Paper Company for 35 years. Joe was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and generally being outdoors.
He was a lifelong member of Pathway Ministries and services will be at Pathway Ministries, 7200 Moffett Road with the wake taking place Thursday June 4th from 5 to 8 with the funeral being June the 5th beginning at 11 also from Pathway Ministries. Interment will be at Pinecrest West.
