Julia Ann Goings

    Julia Ann Goings, 36, of Semmes received her crown in Heaven at 9:24 am on Wednesday, November 16, 2023.

   Julie was born July 1, 1987, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Lawson Goings Jr. and Connie Krist.   In her early childhood, she gained bonus parents: Mark Krist and Jan Goings.  She became Law’s devoted mom on May 13, 2015.  They have been inseparable best friends for 8 years.

   Julie graduated from Mary G. Montgomery High School and Troy University with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism.  She was an admired leader during her high school and university years, as well as in her professional life.   Julie was energetic and lit up a room with her bubbly personality.  She was an active member of Moffett Road Baptist Church.  She was quick to help anywhere she was needed, always putting others before herself.  Julie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.   

   She was preceded in death by her father, Lawson Goings.  Grandfather, Roger Sharpe.  Uncle, Rod Sharpe.  Grandparents, Glynn and Julia Goings, Bill and Estelle Krist, and Bill and Ruth Taylor.

   She is survived and loved by countless family members and friends, cherished mother of Law Curseen, precious daughter of Connie Krist (Mark) and Jan Goings, treasured sister of Brandy Williams (Michael), Trey Goings (Alicia), Jennifer Krist, and Mark Krist Jr., darling granddaughter of Liz Sharpe, loving aunt of Nathan Williams, Elle Krist, Jude Krist, and Fox Krist, fond niece of several aunts and uncles, compassionate cousin, loyal friend to many.

   Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Moffett Road Baptist Church.  The funeral service will follow at 1:00.  Interment at Valhalla Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either your favorite charity or the University of South Alabama Mitchell Cancer Center in her memory.
