Kenneth Brackin Obituary

Kenneth David Brackin was born November 5, 1957 and died September 12, 2022. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, after a well fought battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Billy R and Vivian Evans Brackin, his brothers; Lamar, Michael, and Carl Brackin, sons; Tyler Stanley and Nathan Brackin, and in laws, Rev. Jack and Peggy Stanley.

He is survived by his wife; Teresa Stanley Brackin, daughter; Haley Brackin, Granddaughters; Molli Brackin, Bella Bryant, and Emmy Stanley, Sister; Sherry (David) Hardy, sisters by marriage Brenda (Kenny) Brister and Cindy (Steve) Littrell, brothers by marriage Joe Stanley and Andy (Virginia) Stanley, Aunts; Bobbie Brackin Herrington Spears and Gwen Brackin Bardwell, Many nieces and nephews and a heap of other relatives and friends.

Kenny was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama and was a 1976 graduate of Mary G. Montgomery High School. He went on to obtain his pilot's license and worked as a private pilot and flight instructor at Bates Field Airport. In 1981, he went to work at Montgomery Elevator (Currently Kone) as an elevator mechanic and remained there until his retirement in 2017.

He was a loving husband, daddy, Paw Paw, and uncle, devoted son and brother and a faithful friend, he was also a member of the Southern Gospel Quartet, Heaven Sent. He loved playing his Martin guitar in the church services and to entertain his family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time in the woods with his hunting partner, Steve. He even shot a deer once!

He was a faithful servant of the Lord and Faith Works Baptist Church. He loved the Lord with all his heart and never shied away from hard work. His grass cutting skills were top-notch.

While we are rejoicing for Kenny, his death leaves a hole in his family, his church, and his community that won't be easily filled. Dear brother, you have fought the fight, you have kept the faith, enter into the Joy of the LORD.

Visitation will be held from Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Chapel services will follow at 1:00 PM with interment in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
