Loren Joseph Eheler, 72, passed away on September 27, 2024, in Mobile, Alabama. He was born July 3, 1952, in French Camp, California. He was preceded in death by his parents; Lawrence and Irma Eheler, uncle; Cecil Rodgers, grandson; David Williams, Carol’s parents; Kenneth and Sheila Marrlett.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carol, and four children: Nicholle Fleming (Frank) of Milton FL., Patricia Baumbach of Lodi CA, Kenneth Lewis (Crystal) of Cabot, AR, and Scott Lewis (Pamela) of Saraland AL, eleven grandchildren and numerous cousins.
Loren was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather; known for his honesty, strength, and willingness to help others. He graduated from East Union High School in Manteca, California and furthered his education at San Joaquin Delta College and Chico State University. His career spanned over 40 years in the truck driving industry where he was recognized for his commitment to safety driving for Nor Cal Beverage and Fed Ex Freight for 17 years each and receiving numerous safety awards.
A lover of the outdoors, Loren was an avid hunter and fisherman. His passion for history led him to travel extensively to explore historical sites. He was also a skilled horseman, participating in various equine activities including driving mule teams and wagons. Loren was particularly proud of his achievements in rodeo team roping where he won many trophies and awards.
A visitation will be held on Thursday October 3, 2024, from 11:00 a.m.— 12:00 p.m. followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home located at 8730 Sims Rd Eight Mile Al, 36613. Interment will follow in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice Care Fund of Mobile Inc. 1515 S. University Blvd, Mobile Al 36609-2958 in memory of Loren Eheler.
