Maxine was born in Waynesboro, Mississippi, she resided in Semmes, Alabama for several years. Maxine has contributed countless volunteer hours giving back to her community. She served as president of the Semmes Chapter Woodman Life (Woodmen of the World). She has hosted many events through Woodman including patriotic honors to veterans, flag presentations, flag retirement ceremonies, donating funds and time to the local outreach.
Prior to Semmes becoming a city, Maxine was one of the original founding members of "Friends of Semmes organization", hosting several community activities which celebrated the annual Easter egg hunt, Christmas parade, Christmas tree lighting, and the Azalea Festival. Maxine was the owner and operator of several rental properties including Lott Road Mobile Home Park. Her spirit and generosity expanded to "Hope Outdoors South Alabama Chapter", and "Victory Health Partners".
She's preceded in death by her parents; John Mack Hamilton, Annie Gertrude Smith, and a brother; Shirley Hamilton.
Maxine is survived by her daughter; Patsy (Ken) Little, grandsons; Brandon Flowers, Dylan (Avery) Little, stepdaughter; Deborah (Corey) Padot, nephews; Johnny (Rachel) Hamilton, nieces; Robin (Kingsman) Wolfe, Sherry (Rusty) Diaz, Kelly (Evan) Wolfe, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 starting at 11:00 AM with interment following in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
