Mazie Gertrude Fitzgerald

   Mazie Gertrude Fitzgerald, 86, born on September 24, 1936 to Joseph and Mattie Elizabeth Pippins passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023 in Lucedale, Mississippi after her battle with Parkinson. Mazie was widowed by her late husband, William Layton Fitzgerald whom they resided in Bates Lake making many fishing memories, she is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Pippins, Mattie Pippins Locke, son, Stephen "Steve" Commander, daughter, Pamela Jean Commander, grandchildren, Dana Lynn Bonner, and Thomas "Shane" Wheeler.

   She is survived by her son Stanley (Dorothy) Commander, Elizabeth "Beth" Owens, Grandchildren; Ashley (Jase) Vickers, Shelley (Cody) Griggers, Cole (Hillaria) Commander, Chassity (Joe) Baggett, Chad Crabtree, Michael Bonner and many other great-grandchildren.

   Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 11-12:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home. A Funeral service will start at 12:00 PM in our chapel. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway.
