Nelda Darlene Howell

    Nelda Darlene Howell, 73, of Semmes, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on October 15, 2025. She was born in Mobile, Alabama, on November 23, 1951, to the late Elbert "DV" Gatwood and Gwendolyn Lee Gatwood.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted O'Neil Howell, and brother Avery Gatwood. She is survived by her daughter, Alisha (John) Auten; two brothers, Warren (Ruth) Gatwood and Lloyd (Sandra) Gatwood; one sister, Gail Bates; one sister-in-law, Theresa Gatwood; and two grandchildren, Chad and Dylan.

    A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a chapel service at 12:00p.m.
