Paul Saunders Obituary

Paul Saunders, resident of Mobile, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving wife and son. Paul was born in Ft. Campbell, KY. May 14, 1947. After graduation he joined the Coast Guard and served two years in AK. and two years in Mobile. He met and soon married his wife of 50 years Barbara. He was privileged to be employed by many local mobile corporations. He was with Gulf Mobile and Ohio Railroad from 1970-1986. Morrisons Corporation 1987-1991. From 1991-1993 various other Corporations as a contractor, Courtaulds, Bender Shipbuilding & SSI. From 1993-2009 he was with Mobile Gas until they were sold. He like to laugh and say, " I helped close many of the home-grown corporations in Mobile County." He loved his work.

He retired January 1, 2009, and he and Barbara traveled extensively in their RV. In 2013 they left the road bought a home in TN and lived there primarily until selling and returning to Mobile in 2019 to settle in. He bravely battled cancer since 2013 and also with his God's grace survived a heart attack in April. Paul deeply loved the Lord and honored him in his life, and we KNOW that he is at home now with his Savior. To God be the Glory! He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney V. Saunders of Nova Scotia and Mother, Nancy Perry of N.Y. His brother, Donald and son, Devon.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Barbara and his son Jeffrey and family, three brothers & two sisters.
