Paul Edward Sims, 59, passed away on September 24, 2023, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Born on September 17, 1964. He was preceded in death by his father; George Sims, mother; Virginia Handley Baldo (Claude), and stepbrother Roger Dale Boutwell.

Paul was known for his loving and caring nature and sense of humor. He could carry on a conversation with anyone anytime and dreamt of the endless "what if's". Paul graduated from MGM High School; he then spent his early professional years as a scaffolder from the 90s into the early 2000s. His passion for classical cars and trucks was evident as he not only collected them but also cherished photographing them at every opportunity. He was a lifelong fan of the rock band Van Halen and singer Kid Rock, but still had a love for country music. Paul's patriotism was intertwined with his love for the American flag, which he declared his love for his children after prayers each night, he would tell them "I love you more than the American flag". A memory that stuck with them. His love for God was huge. He often mentioned making it to heaven one day with the rest of his loved ones, that there would be no such thing as pain or struggle like on earth, we as humans can endure at times.
Memorial services will be held at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home, located at 8730 Sims Rd, Eight Mile, AL 36613, on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Paul's life and legacy will be honored as his family and friends gather to share memories and celebrate a life well-lived.
