Peggy Faye Wilson Stanley was born November 12, 1936 in DeKalb, MS to Eddie Mae Clark and Rufus Wilson. She passed away peacefully at her home in Wilmer, Alabama on November 09, 2021 surrounded by her children. Peggy was a faithful pastor's wife for 46 years. Although she never really liked moving, she followed "Brother Jack" wherever the Lord called him. After his death, she continued to serve the Lord at the church they started, New Work Church. Most recently, she was an active member of Faith Works Baptist Church in Wilmer where her son, Andy Stanley is pastor. She worked from the age of 14 at various jobs, but found her calling when she moved to Alabama and became a teacher of elementary and pre-k students. She taught for over 40 years prior to her retirement in 2012. Since that time, she has enjoyed watching Alabama Football (Roll Tide), the Braves win the World Series, the Hallmark channel, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who was devout in her faith and always did the right thing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack N. Stanley, sisters; Jenny Townsend and Donna Peden; grandchildren, Stanley Waites, Tyler Stanley, and Nathan Brackin.
She is survived by her children, Brenda (Kenny) Brister, Cindy (Steve) Littrell, Joe Stanley, Teresa (Kenny) Brackin, and Andy (Virginia) Stanley; Brothers-in-law, Daniel (Natalie) Stanley and Danny Peden; twenty grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; 5 nieces; 3 nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
