Ray Bowman

    Ray Bowman, 85 years old, went to heaven on July 15, 2021. Ray was born on February 13, 1936 in Leeds, Alabama to Rachel Emmaline and Lindsay Bruce Bowman. His favorite pastimes were being with family, friends, and traveling. He enjoyed the flea market, thrift stores and pawn shops to find treasures and was a enthusiastic guitar player. Ray was a meat cutter by trade. He was a godly man who enjoyed reading Gods word, going to church, (Bible Missionary Church) and enjoyed the fellowship with family and friends. He prayed faithfully every day for his girls that we would all make it to heaven.  Ray is preceded in death by his son David Bowman and son-in-law Lee Donaldson

    He leaves behind a loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Phylliss Bowman. Also surviving are four children, Debbie DePriest (Stephen), Cheryl Donaldson (James), Carolyn Rossman (Mark), and Ruth Swindle (Chuck); and daughter-in-law Mary Bowman; 12 grandchildren, Bethany Burns (Craig), Ryan DePriest, Kimmie DePriest, Jerry Morrison (Mindy), Gin Bush, Stephanie Thompson(Kyle), Sara Beth(Steven), Rachel Norton(Ben), Andy Rossman (Nicole), Leanne Drew (Jimmy), Kristina Swindle, and Christopher Swindle; 17 great grandchildren, Noah, Sierra, Ayden, Taylor, Wyatt, Graham, Carson, Devin, Ethan, James, Malia, Skyler, Selena, (Shaun), Samantha, Clinton, Waylin and many other family members and friends.

    Funeral arrangements are at Valhalla Funeral Home on July 19, 2021 at 11am for family, 12pm for friends with funeral service at 1pm. Internment will follow in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.  

 A special thank you to Carolyn and Mark for always making sure his appointments were kept, taking him shopping, and making sure the house was in good shape. A special thanks to Austin for keeping the lawn looking great.
