Raymond Dale Matheny

  Raymond Dale "Buddy" Matheny departed this life and joined loved ones in Heaven on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

 Dale will be remembered as quick-witted, always up for a joke, and a walking encyclopedia of local high school and college athletics. He loved the Lord, his family, especially his four nieces, Alabama football, and his church, Calvary Temple of Saraland.

 He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Vera Matheny, and sister, Ann Waddell. Dale is survived by his brother, Tim (Julie) Matheny, sisters: Bobbie (Billy) Walker, and Rita Ikner, nieces: Jayda, Rebekkah, Keller, and McKenzie Matheny, and Tracy Bayles, nephews: Terry Waddell and Duner Byrd.

 Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Calvery Temple Assembly of God Church. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM with interment following at Valhalla Memorial Gardens.

 In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate a healthy sum to 'Yea Alabama' - the University of Alabama NIL collective so that Alabama maintains its rightful place at the top of the college football world.
