Rex William Givens

On Thursday September 5, 2024, Rex William Givens, a longtime resident of Semmes, AL passed away at the age of 74. He graduated High School from MGM in 1969. Mr. Givens married Terri Phillips on July 31, 1971, and they celebrated their 53rd anniversary this year. He was a corpsman in the Navy and retired from SAPPI Paper Co. after 34 years.

Mr. Givens is preceded in death by his loving parents William Elbert Givens, Nellie Mae Givens, a son Jesse Ross Givens, a grandson Damon Seth Givens, 6 sisters, and 3 brothers. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and Pop Pop.

Mr. Givens is survived by his wife Terri Givens, two brothers; Chad (Chang) Givens, Dale (Cindie) Givens, two sons; Phillip (Jessica) Givens, Matthew (Kristin) Givens, daughter-in-law Trish Givens, a beloved niece Cortnee (Daniel) Cockrell, five grandchildren; Dayton Givens, Austin Givens, Caleb Givens, Cara Givens, Kerigan Givens and a host of great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from Valhalla Funeral Home on Wednesday Sept. 11, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Chapel services will follow at 1:00 with interment in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
