Roger Lee Wolfe, born in Mobile, Alabama on July 29, 1959, a longtime resident of Wilmer, Alabama went to be with our Lord on July 27, 2023. Roger was born to Annie Greenlee Wolfe and Franklin B. Wolfe where he grew up in Semmes, Alabama with his five brothers. He and his wife built their home in Wilmer where they raised their two daughters. He retired from Mobile Area Water and Sewer Systems after 24 years as a crew chief. Roger received a life saver commendation in 1995 for his courageous actions without regard to his personal safety rescuing a man from a house fire saving a human life. He also worked at Peacock Roofing Company for his father-in law Roger O. Peacock. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, swimming in the Escatawpa River, and playing his harmonica. Mr. Wolfe is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Janice Peacock Wolfe, parents; Annie & Franklin Wolfe, nephew, Adam Kinsman Wolfe, brother-in-law, Roger Allen Peacock, and cousin who was like a brother, Kirby Judd Greenlee III.
Those left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Jessica (James) Wolfe Moody, Jeanna Wolfe Wheat, grandchildren who he adored, Landon Loper, Layton Wheat, Tripp Byrd, Tucker Moody, Layla Pierce, brothers; Kinsman (Robin) Wolfe, Steve (Robin) Wolfe, William (Debbie) Wolfe, Joe (Cindy) Wolfe, Evan (Kelly) Wolfe, mother-in-law, Barbara Peacock, brother-in-laws, Glenn, Eric, Donnie, sisters-in-law, Jeanna, Beth, Starr, Ashley, numerous nieces, nephews and friends and his dogs Titi, Mouse, Gus, and Luca.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 11-12 PM for family and 12- 1 PM for friends, service at 1 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Landon Loper, Layton Wheat, Eric Peacock, Matthew Wolfe, Elijah Wolfe and Michael (Woody) Pritchett. Honorary pallbearers: Tripp Byrd and Evan Wolfe, Jr.
Celebration of Life Dinner will be held at Faith Works Baptist Church, 8410 Jack Williams Rd, Wilmer Alabama 36587.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Rogers memory to Faith Works Baptist Church.
