Ruby Hughes King, 87, of Semmes, Alabama passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025. She was born in Myrtle, Mississippi on August 31,1937.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Hughes and Keron Thomas; two sons, Thomas Johnson and Darrell Johnson; her late husband, Gene King.
She is survived by her two children, Debra (Sonny) Neidhardt of Eight Mile, Alabama, Johnny (Pat) Johnson of Mobile, Alabama; one sister, Joyce Lewis; two brothers, Ben (Sarah) Landon, Jimmy (Rachael) Landon; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Ruby was an operations manager at Roses Department Store in Chickasaw, Alabama and owned PA's Hair Salon in Mobile, Alabama. She was a member of Kushla Bethany Baptist Church in Kushla, Alabama. Ruby lived and was cared for by her loving grandson, DeWayne (Lisa) Neidhardt for the last six years of her life. She will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held on Thursday February 13, 2025, at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. -12:00 P.M. followed by a chapel service at 12:00 P.M. with Dr. Henry (Digger) Creel officiating. Interment will be at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Gardens.
