Samuel Lee Sellers Jr.

It is with deep sadness and enduring love that we announce the passing of Samuel Lee Sellers Jr. of Semmes, Alabama, who departed this life on July 2, 2026, at age 86.

A devoted nurseryman, Jr found joy in helping things grow, whether tending young seedlings or sharing knowledge with customers and friends, for over 64 years. His passion for the nursery business reflected not only in the plants he nurtured but also in the lives he touched through his kindness and generosity.

Mr. Sellers was born in Gilbertown, Alabama, on January 25, 1940. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lucille Havard Sellers; two sons, Michael Sellers of Semmes, Alabama, and Mark (Ember) Sellers of Semmes, Alabama; one daughter, Karen (Patrick) Flanagan of Chatom, Alabama; three grandsons, Landon (Gianna) McDuffie, Evan Sellers, and Ryan Sellers; one granddaughter, Brittany (Blake) Estes; two great grandchildren, Kye and Everen Estes; one brother, Wilmer Sellers; two sisters, Ruby Clyde Bozeman and Faye Fields.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Sellers; mother, Ruth Presley Sellers; three brothers, Gerald Sellers, Travis Sellers, and Truman Sellers; and four sisters, Gena Ruth Elmore, Ester Sellers, Vicky Sellers, and Mary Sue Thompson.

Funeral Services for Mr. Sellers will be on Thursday, July 9, 2026, with Reverend James Cobb officiating. Visitation for family will begin at 10:00 am. Public visitation will begin at 11:00 am. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm. Interment will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
