Shannon Deanna Bryan, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, partner, and child of God, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025, at the age of 46. Born on March 28, 1978, in Mobile, Alabama, she was the daughter of Tabra Thomas and Oral Bryan.
Shannon’s love for her family was boundless. She is survived by her three children, Allie Bryan, Alyssa Gilbert, and Amber Jackson, and was a proud and devoted grandmother to Grace Davis, Jaxon Davis, and Uzziah Gilbert. She was also the cherished sister to Shane Bryan, Shawn Thomas, Lance Bryan, Lorie Andrews, and Lacey Sullivan, and the proud aunt to Lorena Morris, Hillary Coats, Kayden Thomas, Justin Thomas, and more. Shannon’s deep love and devotion extended to her fiancé, Terry Bexley, who was her best friend and partner in life.
Her passing reunites her with Ralph Thomas, a father figure who was deeply important to her, and her adored grandmother, Christine Leachman, in Heaven.
She will always be remembered for her warm, loving nature, her free spirit, and her infectious laughter. She had a unique ability to brighten any room and make others feel seen, special, and valued. Whether it was through her small gestures or her big heart, she always made sure others knew how important they were to her. One of her favorite ways of showing her love was gifting bouquets of flowers, no matter the occasion.
Her family and friends will forever remember Shannon as someone who truly made every place feel like home. She had a gift for turning ordinary moments into something memorable and never met a stranger. She spoke often of the role that faith played in her life, and her gratitude for God’s presence in her journey was evident in everything she did.
Shannon leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. She was a dreamer, a giver, and, most importantly, a child of God. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
To quote her favorite verse from the Bible: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
A celebration of Shannon’s life will be held at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home on February 24, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. -12:00 P.M. followed by a chapel service at 12:00 P.M. Interment will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
