Shannon Maples Davis, born October 27, 1968, in Mobile, Alabama, entered the arms of her Savior on August 26, 2025, at the age of 56.
Born and Raised in Mobile, Shannon's life was rooted in faith, family, and love. She grew up attending Allentown Holiness Church, and in recent years, she found fellowship and strength at Refuge of Grace Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Belinda Freshour, and is survived by her father, Donald Maples Sr. She leaves behind her beloved children, Amber Kelly and James Kelly. She will also be deeply missed by her siblings: Donald Maples Jr., Taylor Cobb, and Daniel Maples, along with her nieces and nephews whom she adored as if they were her own.
Shannon was a strong-willed woman with a heart devoted to caring for others. She loved her children more than words could express and was known for her giving spirit - If you called her in need, she was there. She never met a stranger and left a mark of kindness and love on everyone she encountered. She also had a playful, lighthearted side, always ready with a joke or a funny story to make someone laugh. Her joy and laughter had a way of filling every room she entered.
Though we grieve her passing, we rejoice in knowing that Shannon is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. As Scripture promises, "Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of your Lord" (Matthew 25:23). Her legacy of love, family, laughter, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Shannon's life will be held on September 8, 2025, at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by a chapel service at 12:00 p.m. and a burial service is to follow at Joyner Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance, sharing both tears and laughter as we give thanks for the beautiful gift of her life.
