Shaun Patrick Wheat

    On December 9, 2024, Shaun Patrick Wheat entered the gates of Heaven to join his father; Earl Wayne Wheat, his brother; Earl “Wayne” Wheat, Jr, his best friend; Brian Jordan, Roger and Janice Wolfe, and Roger Peacock. Oh, the rejoicing that must have been as he saw his Savior’s face and reunited with those who had gone before him.

    He was loved through this life by his mother Patricia Wheat, his wife, Courtney (nee Chatham), his sons, Layton and Dalton, his siblings Kevin Wheat (Tammy) and Marleta Carraway (Jason). He also leaves to cherish his memory Layton’s mother, Jeanna Wheat. He will be looking over Layla Pierce, who he loved like a daughter.

    Shaun was a man who always put others above himself as evidenced by his service as an Alabama State Trooper. He was selfless and kind, yet fiercely protective of those he loved. He will be loved and missed by his many nieces, nephews and extended family members to whom he brought joy and laughter. His gentle spirit and loving nature touched all that knew him. We rejoice in knowing he is with his Heavenly father but are left brokenhearted in his absence.

    The family will receive visitors at 10:00 am at Semmes First Baptist Church on Friday, December 20. His Memorial service will be held following visitation at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations to the “Students in Need Fund” of Faith Academy or The Core Project, Inc. would be appreciated.
