After seven long and courageous months, our beloved daughter and sister, Shirah Lynn Gleason—affectionately known as “Sissy” went home to be with Jesus on October 10, 2025.
Shirah spent her entire life in the NICU, where she faced countless challenges with a spark and spirit that inspired everyone around her. She was feisty, brave, and full of personality. Despite the machines and tubes, she shone bright—captivating the hearts of nurses, doctors, and strangers who followed her journey from afar. She was known and loved far beyond hospital walls, touching lives across social media with her courage and grace. Though her time with us was short, her impact was immeasurable.
Shirah is deeply loved and forever remembered by her parents, Josh and Mallory Gleason, and her siblings Lilly, Ivey, Christopher, and Hazel Gleason, who adored their baby sister and cheered for her every step of the way. She is also survived by extended family and a wide community of friends, supporters, and prayer warriors who walked this journey alongside her family.
Though our arms are empty, our hearts are held by the God who is near to the brokenhearted. In this deep sorrow, we cling to the cross and resurrection of Christ, knowing that death does not have the final word. One day, because of Jesus, we will be reunited—where every tear will be wiped away and mourning will be no more. He is making all things new!
We do not grieve as those without hope. We trust in the sure promise of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven". We find peace in knowing that Shirah is now whole, healed, and safe in the presence of the One who knit her together.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Crawford Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
