In Loving Memory of Snowden Milton Glenn
July 13, 1925 – November 28, 2025
100.5 Years
Mr. Glenn was born on July 13, 1925, in Decatur, Mississippi, and was raised in the Beulah Community of Newton, Mississippi. He attended Beulah Hubbard School and began working at the age of 15, showing early the strong work ethic that would define his life.
In 1943, at just 17 years old, he joined the U.S. Army and later moved to Mobile, Alabama, where he began work at Mobile Maritime Shipbuilding during World War II. After the war, he continued his career as an outside machinist and welder at Alabama Drydock and Shipbuilding, where he faithfully worked for 47 years until his retirement.
Mr. Glenn lived a full and wonderful life devoted to his faith, his work, and most of all, his family. He was the oldest member of Myers Memorial Baptist Church and touched countless lives through his service. Many generations fondly remember him as the beloved “Vacation Bible School Cookie Man.”
He was happily married to Artie Mae Rainer on June 7, 1947, and after many blessed years of marriage, he is now joyfully reunited with her in Heaven.
He is survived by his loving children: Gloria Glenn Harger (Glenn), Wanda Glenn Hall, Linda Glenn Baldwin, and Roy Glenn (Ramona); along with his grandchildren: Greg Harger (Mobile), Andrea Platt (Mobile), Mandy Eveleigh (Las Vegas), Kyle Reynolds (Fairhope), Chris Glenn (Spanish Fort), and Carrie Westry (Fairhope). Also surviving him are his great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, nieces, and nephews, who will forever cherish his memory.
Mr. Glenn’s legacy of hard work, faith, and love for family will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Snowden Glenn to:
