Stuart Colin Garrettson, more affectionately known as "Pie Man" was born March 2, 1954. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and loved ones, after a well fought battle with cancer, on October 13, 2022.
Pie was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama and attended Murphy High School. He was a well-known painter in the area. He was very passionate about his work, giving his all to each job he undertook. He was a loving husband, daddy, Pie Paw, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved to be around friends and family, always the life of the party. He has a love for sports from tennis to football, but Alabama football held a very special place in his heart. While we rejoice in his homecoming we are deeply saddened by his departure. He will forever hold a place in the hearts of those that knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents; Hugh and Bessie Garrettson, his brothers; Wade, Hugh, Bruce, and Wayne Garrettson, his sisters; Mary McGuire, Joyce Morrison, and Patricia Hoffman.
He is survived by his wife; Donna Corley Garrettson, children; Tiffany (Greg) Cowart, Stuart (Jill) Garrettson, Amber (Bridgette) Garrettson, Emily (Robby) Lister, Jennifer Alexander, Peaches Marie Garrettson, grandchildren; Jamie Alexander, Victoria Cowart, Nathan Alexander, Garrett (Faith) Cowart, Drake Colling, Christian Garrettson, Doss Lister, Danni Lister, and one great-grandchild on the way, brother; Charles (Cathy) Garrettson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 11:00 - 1:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home. The funeral service will start at 1:00 PM with internment following in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
