Virginia Augusta Busby

April 5, 1928 – August 21, 2021

   She was always known as Jean by family and friends.  She was born in Evergreen, Alabama and lived in Mobile all her life where she met our father Herbert Russell Busby (Deceased). They were married over 51 years and had three daughters. They taught us love, hard work and strong faith in Jesus Christ. We were able to pass down to our children the same values they taught us. Many people remember our mother working in her yard after retirement. She loved cutting grass and and taking care of her flowers.. She was always a hard worker and made sure her family had everything we needed. On holidays we all gathered at her home on Spice Pond Rd. and she prepared fabulous meals for all of us to gather and visit.  Animals were her passion. Her hobbies were bowling, quilting and yard work. The family would like to give  special thanks to all the care givers who spent many days cooking and taking care of her. They will always have a place in our hearts. Mercy of Life and Comfort Care provided excellent service to us too.

   She is survived by her daughters Wanda Nutt (Jerry), Betty Jo Chavers, 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren,  14 Great Great Grandchildren.

   Services will be held at Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Eight Mile, Al. Visitation from 11 – 12pm and service at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021. Flowers are welcome or donations to: Mercy of Life, 2900 Springhill Ave., Mobile, Al 36607 Attn: David Grimes, Executor Director
