Walter “Buddy” Stringfellow Sr., of Semmes, Alabama, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 31, 1942, in Mobile, Alabama, Walter dedicated his life to family, community, and service.
For 25 years, Walter proudly served as a sheriff’s deputy with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office. Beyond the badge, Walter worked for the Mobile Cruise Terminal, was a member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club and was a longtime member of Life Church of Mobile.
Walter was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Michelle; his children, Gary (Cindy) Stringfellow, Deanna Stringfellow, Vickie Coffman, McKenna Stringfellow, Andrew Foster, Hannah (Jason) Holbrook, and Matthew (Jordan) Foster; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rita (Charles) Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Sr. and Aurrietta Stringfellow; his son, Walter “Buster” Stringfellow Jr.; his son-in-law, Roy Coffman; and his siblings, Earl Stringfellow Jr., Ernest Stringfellow, Jack Stringfellow, Julia Horton, Nan Turner, and Betty Mitchell.
A visitation will be held on November 1, 2025, at 10:00 am at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am, followed by interment at Stringfellow Cemetery in Wilmer, AL, 36587.
Walter leaves behind a legacy of duty, honor, and love—a life well-lived in service to others.
